Was so chuffed to be invited to design this Christmas card for The Gate Theatre in Dublin. Sent to the theatre’s friends, patrons and the wider theatre community, the card  marked the difficult year gone by, when The Gate was forced to close its doors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

I began by tracing the facade in detail – a job which requires a good stock of unlistened-to podcasts! I added a crescent moon and some icicle fairy lights. With its one lit up window, the design is a nod to the theatre ghost light that remains on even when a stage is dark, as well as the guiding light of a Christmas candle, and the message that the doors would soon reopen.
